First Falls, Magaguadavic are located in Saint
George, NB the route to the falls in town is well marked and are easy to find. The source feeding these falls is the Magaguadavic (meaning
"lake of eels" in Mi'kmaq)
Lake which is located in York
County some distance away. A dam and mill were built by St. George Pulp and
Paper, at the turn of the century however stopped operations around 1967. Today
the old mill is used to generate hydro-electricity.
