Meduxnekeag Red Trail and Blue Trail

After doing the purple trail just the other day we decided to go back and try the Red trail.  I have to honestly say the Red trail is by far easier then the purple trail.  We enjoyed the red trail as it led right bay a small brook.

Along the trail were many blank bridges and some nice seating areas.  It appeared that the trail was recently maintained as you could tell were large trees ones blocked the trail.

We decided to take in the the blue trail as well.  The blue trail certainly was a lot easier then the purple trail but a bit harder then the red trail.  The blue trail went up hill around the top of the mountain and had a great look out over looking the tops of the trees, a great place to just sit and do some bird watching.

Meduxnekeag Purple Trail/ Van Dine Falls

The Meduxnekeag Purple walking trail is on of several on the Meduxnekeag Valley Nature Preserve.  This trail has much to offer such as Bird watching, Water Falls, several animals can be spotted inside the nature preserve.

The purple trail features many plank bridges, rock walls, wooden steps and ropes for help on steep hills.

The trail offers several smaller waterfalls one that appears like a large bowl caution should be taken as this is very slippery speaking from experience as my daughter slip in trying to wash her rubber boots.

Van Dine Falls

Several mushrooms and little critters could also be spotted.
