Hairy woodpecker
Afternoon visitor, right at my front door a Hairy Woodpecker
The Hairy Woodpecker is black and white, the
wings have a checkered pattern and the head has two white stripes with the
exceptions of the males who have a flash of red on the back of their head.
The Hairy Woodpecker feed on the bases of trees, along fallen logs and sometimes even on the ground.
This breed of Woodpecker can be found across the continent
in woodlots suburbs parks, cemeteries open woodlands etc.

Upham Brook Falls
So it was raining all last weekend but I guess it is typical for this time of year, however that did not stop us from checking out a local waterfall. Last time we visited this waterfall it was barely running however this time you could hear it roaring in a distance. We spend a bit of time just sitting under a tree that had a few remaining leaves for shelter and used a plastic bag and my pony tail holder to make a protect cover for my camera.

Phillips creek waterfall (monteith)
Ackers Creek Falls just outside of Woodstock NB heading to Hartland. Drive North towards NewBurg and just past Newburg will be th Ackers Creek Bridge cross the bridge and take the Jennings road. Follow the road to the end and start walking there will be a large hill just a little ways into the woods. Carefully climb down the hill as it is soft footing when at the button turn right you will be able to hear the falls.

Fall Country Drive

I worked on potatoe harvesters potatoes house and fields for many years and I was always amazed at how many potatoes a harvester would leave behind ....just to think so many people go hungry every day.

Hyla Park

Hyla park is located on the north side in the city of Fredericton. The park is owned by the city however it is leased out to the Nature Trust. The Nature Trust has leased this property since 1995 to preserve the gray tree frog.
The park used to be a gravel pit and an old race track, however Hyla Park is now the first Amphibian Park of Canada and has been featured in the pages of the National Geographic Magazine.
